TopFinClub ("we", "us") operates topfinclub.com — a free, open-source library of financial calculators. This page explains what data we handle and what we don't.
1. The short version
We don't sell your data. We don't ask for your name, email, or password. We don't track you across the web. The calculators run entirely in your browser — none of the numbers you type are sent to our servers.
2. What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count page views, referrers, and roughly which country visitors come from. We do not collect IP addresses, cookies, fingerprints, or any data that could identify you personally.
Theme and language preference
If you switch to dark mode or change language, we save that choice in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device. You can clear it any time via your browser settings.
Calculator inputs (URL-only)
Some calculators support sharing a scenario via URL parameters (e.g. mortgage.html?hp=400000&dp=20). Those values are visible to anyone with the link. They are not stored on our servers.
3. What we don't collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Your financial inputs (salary, mortgage amount, credit-card balance, etc.)
- Your IP address (beyond the standard server log line, which we do not retain longer than 7 days)
- Tracking cookies, advertising IDs, or third-party trackers
4. Cookies
We use a single, optional functional cookie to remember if you've dismissed the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies. You can decline and continue using the site normally.
5. Third-party services
We host fonts via Google Fonts. When fonts load, your browser exchanges a request with Google's servers; consult their privacy policy for details.
6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (US) or 16 (EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar laws: you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we hold none, those rights resolve trivially. If you'd like a written confirmation, email us at the address below.
8. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "last updated" date at the top whenever we change this page. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
